New Haircuts

J & E got haircuts yesterday. It was E's first "real" haircut. I had done her bangs a few times and once took a few inches off the back of it, but this would be at a strange place and the scissors would be wielded by an unknown person! When we talked about it a few days ago she initially said, "No, I don't want to get my hair cut." But, then big brother J stepped in and shared with her all his enthusiasm for the process and the special little details, like the lollipop he gets to eat during the haircut while straddling an animal-shaped chair and watching The Wiggles on the TV. She was sold! Did I mention the lollipop? Later I snapped a couple pics of the new hair doos while they were eating some pizza.

Luke

This is our sweet cat Luke hanging out in the kitchen window a few days ago.

And her is a look back at Luke as a kitten, from late '06. He always loved to sleep right next to E's head.

Windy, chilly, wonderful!

We love to walk to the park after dinner. Today was a bit windy, a bit chilly, and even damp, but in that wonderful "the air smells like it is about to rain any minute" sort of way that *I* do so love. We headed out to take our chances and had a wonderful and dry time. I did not take my camera today but I found these photos from a few weeks back that were from a perfect echo of a "today's weather" kind-of-day.

Doesn't this photo make you feel how windy and cold it was?

Here are a few more from that same day although I don't think these give the weather-feel of that day at all. Also, I remembered on seeing the last photo of J in the wagon sitting in the kites that we took the kites out that day which reminded me that though it was windy and chilly like today it was not damp, and you can also see it was sunny not cloudy. In case you care INTERNET!

Seat Built for Two

It was breakfast and J couldn't get close enough to his beloved little sis so he slid over right onto her chair next to her.

Okay, maybe it had something to do with the Lego catalog she was reading...

...or did he just want to get a closer look at her special breakfast concoction that morning,
"The Waffle-Pancake Sandwich"....

....or maybe he just wanted a quick hug?
